Gilmore Lighting Design, an architectural lighting design and consulting business, creates award-winning projects for people, places and art, using light to enrich and enliven spaces. For more than 20 years, the firm, located in Bethesda, Maryland, has provided sensitively nuanced, technically advanced lighting and control solutions for public and private parks, k-12 schools, higher education campuses, cultural venues, corporations and institutions.

Founded by Debra Gilmore, the company D. Gilmore Lighting Design, Inc. is a 100% woman-owned business, certified MBE by the Maryland Board of Transportation, SWaM by the State of Virginia, and LDBE by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

Passionate about light and its power to evoke emotion while creating visual interest and solving pragmatic challenges, Gilmore Lighting Design believes the most successful projects result when ideas are shared and synergistically developed by the entire design team. The firm prides itself in its ability to communicate clearly and concisely through all project stages, from initial concepts guiding visualization goals, to final focusing and commissioning.
